What am I getting?
Five (5) Skin Cancer Early Detection tools.
Who should use it?
Everyone is at risk for skin cancer, and everyone can benefit from skin self-exams.
Who created the tool?
It was originally designed by one of Australia's leading skin cancer organizations. Sunny, beach-loving Australia has the dubious honor of having the highest incidence of skin cancer in the world. But creative initiatives like this have helped Australia achieve a recent decline in melanoma cases. To help us fight the melanoma incidence rate in the U.S, our friends in Australia have helped us adapt this tool for American users.
How should I use this?
Just 2½ by 4½ inches, it fits in a pocket, small bag or a shallow medicine cabinet. You can attach it to a carabiner or a keychain and hook it to a backpack or wall hook as a reminder to use it regularly.
The tool has cards that fan out and help you understand the ABCDEs of melanoma detection, including a see-through magnifier, and a die-cut card that lets you measure a suspicious spot.
Each card includes a question and helpful ways to answer it. At the end, if you answered “yes” to one or more, we recommend the steps you should take next.
